Washrooms
We've been transforming washrooms across the UK for more than a decade and honestly, we think we've got pretty good at it. At Macaw Washrooms, we don't just install toilets and sinks – we create spaces that people actually want to use.
Commercial Washrooms
Your clients notice your washrooms – trust us on this one. We've heard countless stories from business owners who've had visitors specifically comment on their facilities (in a good way!).
School Washrooms
School washrooms are tough. Really tough. Kids can be... creative... with how they use facilities, and teenagers? Well, let's just say they present their own unique challenges. We've designed washrooms for every age group...

We exist to raise the bar in washroom installation because we've seen what happens when people donʼt care. That's why we lead with a personal approach and pride in our work. We believe in delivering exactly what we say we will.
Commercial Washrooms from Macaw
Our commercial washrooms handle heavy traffic without looking tired, and they're designed to make your brand look sharp.
We work with everyone from small businesses looking to make a big impression to multinational corporations with exacting standards. Each project starts with a proper chat about what you need, what you're working with, and what gets you excited about the space. After that initial chat, we go away and have a proper think about your space. What's going to work? What won't? How can we squeeze the most out of every square metre whilst keeping everything looking smart and working properly?
We use the best materials that won't fall apart after six months, clever design that makes cramped spaces feel bigger, and taps that don't dribble or blast you in the face. We've been caught out before by fancy products that look the part but can't handle real-world use, so now we stick with kit we know works. We've been doing this long enough to know which products will still look great in five years' time.
Washroom Upgrade Case Study
Rothley Primary School: Classroom Toilet Upgrade
Timeline: Summer holidays - 3 weeks)
Scope: Refurbishment of 3 classroom washrooms
Three tired pupil washrooms were set for a like-for-like swap this summer, but the Macaw team spotted the real culprit: a flimsy cubicle frame that made every door wobble and every hinge work loose. Simply replacing boards would have baked the problem back in.
Instead, we rebuilt the structure. Partition panels were taken higher and tied into concealed steel bracing, giving the cubicles the rigidity of a brick wall while keeping them light and child-friendly. Doors now close with a soft “click”, not a crash.
We clad everything in bright, anti-bacterial Polyrey laminate that laughs off marker pens and bleach alike and colour-matched the school’s house system. Soft-close hinges and tamperproof locks cut noise and maintenance calls.
Timing was critical. Our DBS-checked crew stripped out, first-fixed and fitted all three washrooms in three weeks flat—finishing a full fortnight before the new term. Teachers returned to a spotless site; pupils returned to washrooms that feel solid, safe and fresh.
“The kids noticed straight
away, no rattles, no leaks,
and the colours look brilliant.
Macawʼs advice turned a
quick fix into a long-term
solution.ˮ

Medical Washrooms
Medical washrooms are in a league of their own. Medical washrooms have to be spotless, not just "looks clean" spotless – but they can't feel like operating theatres. Nobody wants to feel more anxious than they already do when they're visiting the doctor. We install washrooms in GP practices, dental surgeries, care homes, even A&E departments. Each one teaches us something new about what works and what doesn't.
Our medical washrooms use non-porous surfaces throughout because bacteria simply can't get a foothold. Touch-free everything – taps, soap dispensers, hand dryers – reduces cross-contamination risks. We follow HTM 64 guidelines religiously and work closely with healthcare professionals to make sure every installation supports both patient dignity and clinical requirements.
Accessibility is huge in healthcare settings. Proper grab rails positioned exactly where they're needed, enough space for wheelchairs to manoeuvre comfortably, and emergency alarm systems where required. We've had occupational therapists walk through our installations and suggest tweaks that make a real difference to patients with limited mobility.

Why Contact Macaw Washrooms?
What makes us different? Honestly, it's probably our slightly obsessive attention to detail. We source materials from suppliers we've worked with for years because we know they're reliable. We use sustainable technologies not because it's trendy, but because it makes sense – dual-flush toilets, energy-efficient hand dryers, and LED lighting that only comes on when needed.

Mark and Craig are first class professionals who go over and above to ensure that all work is finished to a super standard.Posted on philip cooperTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Macaws have been brilliant from start to finish. We contacted them after suffering from a leak to one of the toilet blocks and the resulting concealed damage to the boys toilets at the Oaks Scout campsite. They worked with us and our insurers to give us the best outcome with available budget, whilst working around our need to still be operational. The finished works look great and we are very pleased with the outcome. We are now looking to engage with them on further projects.Posted on Guilsborough CalendarTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Lovely new toilet and washrooms fitted in our reception area. Craig and the team went through everything with me before, during and after the job. The area was finished to a great standard and looks amazing. Very friendly service. Thank you.Posted on Adam SmithTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. We engaged with Macaw Washrooms to refurb our 2 changing rooms, showers and referee’s room at our football club. They were nothing but fantastic from the start. We were visited straight away after making contact, and we explained what we were looking for and within days we had designs to peruse over, and after choosing the fixtures and fittings, we immediately confirmed the order. The project manager explained every step leading up to the start date as no question was too small and Mark and his team of fitters were excellent once they arrived and so professional. We also had problems with the drainage in one of the rooms, something that we have had to live with as a club for years, but Macaw have even sorted that out for us. We cannot praise Macaw Washrooms enough for the service they have provided from start to finish, and we have had amazing feedback from everyone. I’d just like to say on behalf of the club, Macaw Washrooms are simply the best and we wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them. Adam Smith — Chairman, Ingles F.C.Posted on Google rating score: 5.0 of 5,

School Washrooms by Macaw Washrooms
We've designed school washrooms for every age group, from tiny reception pupils who need lower sinks and toilet heights to sixth-formers who require privacy.
Safety comes first, obviously. All our materials are vandal-resistant (we've learned this the hard way), and everything's designed with anti-finger trap hinges because nobody wants a call from the school nurse. The cubicles are built to last, with proper locks that can withstand determined five-year-olds and robust enough to handle whatever secondary school students throw at them.
Here's something we're particularly proud of: all our school installation teams are DBS checked, and we schedule most work during holidays so there's no disruption to learning. We know schools inside out – from Department for Education guidelines to the reality of what actually happens when 30 Year 3s all need the loo at once.
Customers Frequently Asked Questions
It all comes down to infection control. We use surfaces that bacteria can't colonise, antimicrobial materials where they're needed most, and touch-free technology throughout. Our project managers have worked in healthcare settings before, so they understand the unique challenges – from maintaining patient dignity to accommodating medical equipment. Everything we do follows HTM 64 guidelines and accessibility requirements.
It starts with choosing the right materials. We use solid grade laminate for toilet cubicles because it's practically indestructible, and solid surface materials for vanity units that can handle industrial-strength cleaning products. But materials are only half the story – installation quality matters just as much. Our installers are properly trained, we use the right fixings for different wall types, and every installation gets thoroughly checked before we hand over the keys.
Absolutely – these are often our favorite projects! We've worked in Victorian buildings with wonky walls, ultra-modern spaces with specific architectural requirements, and everything in between. Our design team loves a challenge, and we have visualisation tools that show you exactly how the finished washroom will look before we start manufacturing anything. Custom vanity units, made-to-measure cubicles, tailored storage solutions – if you can dream it, we can probably build it.
Our relationship doesn't end when we pack up our tools. Every installation comes with comprehensive warranties, and our maintenance team responds quickly if anything needs attention. For clients with multiple sites, we offer service agreements that include regular inspections and preventative maintenance. We also provide detailed care instructions and can train your cleaning staff on the best maintenance techniques for your specific materials and fixtures.
We work with suppliers who share our environmental values – FSC certified timber, products with recycled content, that sort of thing. Water conservation is built into our designs through dual-flush toilets, flow-restricted taps, and waterless urinals where appropriate. Energy-efficient LED lighting with motion sensors, high-efficiency hand dryers, and natural lighting solutions where possible all help reduce environmental impact. During installation, we minimise waste through precise ordering and recycle materials wherever we can.
