Working with Schools
You've got lesson plans to sort, staff meetings to attend and a thousand other priorities before thinking about washroom facilities. The last thing you need is contractors who don't understand schools or create more problems than they solve.

“The kids noticed straight away, no rattles, no leaks, and the colours look brilliant. Macawʼs advice turned a quick fix into a long-term solution.ˮ
Craig Palmer. Site Manager, Rothley Primary School
Every Person on Site Will Have Clearance
There's no getting around it - anyone working in your school must be properly vetted. We've heard the stories about contractors who promise DBS checks then turn up with staff who "haven't quite got their paperwork through yet." Not acceptable when children's safety is at stake.
What we do differently: Our entire team comes DBS-checked before we even quote for work. No waiting around, no last-minute surprises, no excuses. We hand over certificates on day one because we understand safeguarding isn't negotiable in schools.

We've worked with enough schools to know what actually works and what just looks good in proposals. And we stand behind our work. Secondary school washrooms are a long-term investment - we make sure they deliver long-term value.

Our school Hall Park Academy are pleased to share our thoughts on the newly refurbished school toilets, which have made a noticeable difference to the overall environment and student experience. The refurbishment has brought a fresh, modern look to the facilities. The new layout is more spacious and better ventilated, which has significantly improved hygiene and comfort. The addition of hand dryers, and improved lighting has made the space more user-friendly and energy-efficient. Students have commented positively on the brighter colours, cleaner appearance, and increased privacy. The new cubicles and doors offer better security and comfort, and the anti-vandal fittings are a smart addition for long-term durability. From a site management perspective, the materials used are clearly chosen for ease of maintenance and cleaning, which helps us keep the facilities in top condition with less effort. Overall, the refurbishment has been a great success and has had a positive impact on both staff and students. It reflects a strong commitment to providing a safe, clean, and respectful environment for everyone in the school community. We would strongly recommend Macaw washrooms to help design your project and deliver the project within a desired time to a high quality . Macaws have been brilliant from start to finish. We contacted them after suffering from a leak to one of the toilet blocks and the resulting concealed damage to the boys toilets at the Oaks Scout campsite. They worked with us and our insurers to give us the best outcome with available budget, whilst working around our need to still be operational. The finished works look great and we are very pleased with the outcome. We are now looking to engage with them on further projects.Posted on Guilsborough CalendarTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Lovely new toilet and washrooms fitted in our reception area. Craig and the team went through everything with me before, during and after the job. The area was finished to a great standard and looks amazing. Very friendly service. Thank you.Posted on Adam SmithTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. We engaged with Macaw Washrooms to refurb our 2 changing rooms, showers and referee’s room at our football club. They were nothing but fantastic from the start. We were visited straight away after making contact, and we explained what we were looking for and within days we had designs to peruse over, and after choosing the fixtures and fittings, we immediately confirmed the order. The project manager explained every step leading up to the start date as no question was too small and Mark and his team of fitters were excellent once they arrived and so professional. We also had problems with the drainage in one of the rooms, something that we have had to live with as a club for years, but Macaw have even sorted that out for us. We cannot praise Macaw Washrooms enough for the service they have provided from start to finish, and we have had amazing feedback from everyone. I’d just like to say on behalf of the club, Macaw Washrooms are simply the best and we wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them. Adam Smith — Chairman, Ingles F.C.Posted on Google rating score: 5.0 of 5,

The Summer Holiday Deadline Is Absolutely Final
You get one shot at major building work - those precious weeks when children aren't around. Miss that window and you're looking at months of disruption, health and safety headaches and very unhappy staff trying to teach with builders wandering about.
What we do differently: We work backwards from your first day of term and build proper contingency into every timeline. When we say finished by mid-August, we mean it. You, the client, won't be frantically calling us on the Sunday before term starts asking where we are.
School Budgets Don't Stretch to Constant Repairs
Every head teacher knows the pain of choosing between new textbooks and fixing the toilets again. You've probably learned the hard way that the cheapest quote often turns into the most expensive mistake when you're calling contractors back six months later.
What we do differently: We price for facilities that last 15 years, not 3. Yes, our upfront costs might be higher than the cowboy who quoted half our price, but you won't be replacing everything when the next head takes over. We use materials designed for schools, not someone's bathroom at home.
Children Test Everything to Breaking Point
Little hands push buttons repeatedly, doors get slammed and somehow soap dispensers end up ripped off walls. Standard bathroom fittings simply don't survive the enthusiasm of 200 children using them daily. You need washrooms designed for real school life.
What we do differently: Everything we install has been tested in actual schools. We know which door handles survive Year 3's enthusiasm and which soap dispensers still work after a term of use. Our installations don't just look good in the brochure - they work when faced with real children.
